DELTA RADIO Coding InstructionsBe careful when resetting the code on the radio, if the radio code is not entered correctly after three tries, SAFE will flash three times on the display. Disconnect the battery lead connection from the radio, so you can have three more tries. If the radio displays SAFE but won't move to the next step for entering the code, leave the radio on for an hour and retry entering the code.If the radio is not successfully recoded after six tries, the radio may be locked permanently and will have to be replaced. If you don't have the radios security code, you can try entering 1111 as some replacement radios were coded with this security code. The radio should have a serial number on the unit which also can be given to the Audi dealer and checked in their data base of radio security codes. The serial number will start with AUZ, one radio serial number for example is AUZ1Z9A1965412.To enter the code on the Delta Radio: First turn on the radio, SAFE should be displayed.Push and hold the AM button, then while holding the AM button down, push and hold down the ARI-Z button. The display should show 1000, now Release the AM and ARI-Z buttons. Enter the correct code using the radio pre-set station buttons (1-4). Button 1 changes the first digit in the code "1"000, Button 2 changes the second digit in the code 1"0"00, button 3 changes the third digit, button 4 changes the last digit in the code. In most cases the first digit is a 1 and won't need to be changed. You push each pre-set station button multiple times to step through the digits (1-9) to get the correct code displayed.Code 1246 would entered by pushing button "2" two times, pushing button 3 four times, and pushing button 4, six times. After entering the correct security code, push and hold down the AM button, then while holding down the AM button, push and hold down the ARI-Z button. The display will then show SAFE, release the two buttons, and now the radio should play correctly.
